Texas Hold'em RulesTexas Hold'em is a poker game that dates back to the early 20th century. Gamblers in Texas seem to have developed the game, but much of its history is still debated. Regardless, it is now the most popular poker game in casinos in American, and has extreme popularity online as well. To be successful in this card game, players must know Texas Hold'em rules and strategy. Texas Hold'em is a community game in which all players are dealt two cards, then must make a five card hand out of the five community cards and the cards in their hand. In most games of Texas Hold'em, players will either pay an ante (an obligatory payment at the start of each hand), a blind bet, or both. Blind bets include both a small blind and a big blind paid by the first two players to the left of the dealer once two cards have been dealt. In tournaments, the players who must pay the blind follow a clockwise rotation. Consecutive players may either pay the big blind, raise the blind, or fold. Texas Hold'em rules are such that you must finish betting before dealing the first three community cards, known as the flop. Players must judge whether they can make the best hand based on the two cards which they have (which are hidden from the rest of the table) and the three community cards that everyone can see. A round of betting occurs, and, if two players are still in the game, a fourth community card is dealt. This card is known as the turn. Another round of betting occurs, and then players receive a final fifth community card, known as the river. A final round of betting ensues, and, if two players still remain, players flip over their cards and see who truly has the best hand five card hand. When dealing cards in Texas Hold'em, dealers will follow certain Texas Hold'em rules and standards. The top card of the deck is burned (discarded) before the flop, turn, and the river. If two players each have the best possible hand at the end of play, then the final winnings (or the pot) is split. If players have a similar best hand, their cards are examined for a kicker. The kicker is the highest card that does not effect the rank of a hand (two pair, straight, etc.). If each player has a pair of aces, but one player has a king kicker while the other has a queen kicker, the former hand will win. Texas Hold'em is a fun game that is shown on sports related television, and can be found in many casinos around the world.
