Craps: The Basics

Craps is one of the most popular casino games out there. Each game is based around the shooter, which is the person that actually rolls the dice. The game begins when the shooter makes his first roll. This is called the “come-out roll.” If the shooter’s first roll is a 2, 3, or 12 it is called “craps” and the round is now over and a new player becomes shooter. A “natural” is when the come-out roll is a 7 or 11. If any other number is rolled, that becomes the point. The player then rolls the dice until they get a 7 or the point.

There are several different ways to bet on craps. The most common is the “pass” or “don’t pass” line. The pass line means you are betting on the shooter to win and the don’t pass line means you are betting on him to lose. If the shooter rolls a natural, then the pass line wins. If the shooter rolls the point before a seven, then the pass line wins. The don’t pass line wins if the shooter rolls craps or rolls a 7 before the point.

There are also single roll bets and multi roll bets. Some common single roll bets are to bet that a 2, 3, 11, or 12 will be rolled next. You bet on one number in this and if it is rolled, you win. You can also bet that any seven or any craps will be rolled. Craps is not a difficult game to pick up and actually has the best odds out of all casino games, so now you just need to get out there and play.
